Description: Phytic acid is the phosphates ester of inositol. it is found in almost grains and fibers of plants in the form of insoluble calcium and magnesium salts(called Phytin) which are considered as the storage of organic phosphorus in plants.
Property: Its appearance is colorless to light yellow viscous liquid. it contains twelve acid groups which are able to comples with metals to form white insoluble mineral salts. its easily soluble in water and ethanol, almost insoluble in pure ether and hexane. the most outstanding feature of phytic acid is its powful chelating function which is stronger than ETDA.
Usage: It can be used as anti-oxidant, preservative, stabilizer, developing agent, contrast agent, oral cleansing agent, fermentation promoter, water treatment, anti-rust, anti-corrosion agent and chelating agent, for removal of metal ions. it is usually used in food and beverage industry and chemical industry, etc.
