Vitrosilicon S.A. is the heir of a smelting tradition that reaches back in the Lubuskie region to the 18th century. The company was founded on the basis of the Żaganski Glass Works and has been operating as a commercial enterprise since 1988. The company has two production facilities located in Iłowa, where the head office is situated, and in Żary. The company belongs to the Ciech Capital Group.

The company's production is made up of two separate areas:

* glass products
* chemical - silicon products

Vitrosilicon S.A. is an innovator in all areas because it tries to be the first in different markets and offers new, innovative products earlier than others. In order to constantly ensure innovative products and high quality, new technical and technological solutions are introduced on an ongoing basis. In order to achieve and maintain a highly competitive position, the company is always looking for niche markets and new products which can satisfy the constantly appearing new needs of current and future purchasers.

Vitrosilicon S.A. is constantly expanding its product range mainly through modifying its designs of glass lamps and bricks, introducing new colours as well as new types of adornments. In the chemical area, the company is constantly working on new technologies as well as on improving the production of its goods.

The technical development of the company is possible thanks to the highly qualified, energetic and creative workforce as well as the permanent co-operation with the Institute of Glass and Ceramics in Warsaw, the Committee of Scientific Research, the Institute of Non-organic Chemistry and Poznan Polytechnic.
